The `controversial' Samajwadi Party MLA Kishore Samrite on Wednesday was suspended by the party for his anti-party activities. Samrite, an MLA from Lanji assembly constituency, had created a sensation in the political circle of Madhya Pradesh, alleging to have been offered a bribe of Rs 10 lakh by the Congress for supporting the candidature of the Rajya Sabha's independent candidate from Madhya Pradesh, Vivek Tankha
While announcing the suspension of Samrite from the Samajwadi Party, the party general secretary, Amar Singh on Wednesday said that Samrite did not obey whip of the party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, according to which the party MLAs were supposed to cast their votes in favour of independent candidate Tankha. Singh said that Samrite need not to have talked to anybody and accepted bribe notwithstanding whip of the party high-command.
Confirming the suspension of Samrite from the party, the state president of the Samajwadi Party, Narayan Tripathi said that Samrite has been suspended for anti-party activities & working against party's guidelines. He raised Question against former state president of our party in the present Assembly session and on numbers of occasions made anti-party remarks which appeared in a section of newspapers, Tripathi said adding that Samrite was also working at the behest of ruling the Bharatiya Janata Party Government in the State.
Reacting to his suspension, Samrite said that whatever he did, was for the interest of the party.
