Preparing dishes for Holi

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, Mar 19: The festival of colours "Holi" is coming near and it would be observed on March 22. Women are preparing for the festival and making various traditional delicious foods/dishes and items like Gujiya, Khurme etc. They are also searching for new items in the magazines and newspapers, TV Channels etc.

Anita Soni, (housewife) said that she likes to make delicious food in house and the traditional items can be only made in house and cannot be purchased from the market but other materials would be purchased from the market. The Holika Pujan is performed by the tradition items (food) and we have to make it for performing Holika Pujan.

Gita Dongo said that we belong to Maharashtra and the best delicious food of Maharashtran is Puran-Puri. Apart from this, we would make Gujiya, Puran-Puri, Papdi etc. Although the price of the materials is increasing day by day but we will observe Holi with great fanfare. We like to use more herbal colours than chemical colours.

Music teacher Arundhati said that we would make Gulab Jamun, Puran-Puri, Khurme for the children along with Gujiya, Papadi etc. First we would perform Holika Pujan on March 3 and would play Holi with herbal colours and water. Kalpana Shrivastava, teacher said that I want to make delicious food on the festival and some sweets and other items would be taken from market.
