Dances steal show: Function held at RDIST

Bhopal, Mar 18: Though many cultural programmes and sports events were organised at the annual function of Rukmani Devi Institute of Science and Technology, but dance performances by the students stole the show. Meanwhile, among the audience both junior as well as senior students were also dancing together step-to-step with the stage performers. Apart from many sports including cricket and volleyball, cultural programmes like competitions of dances, solo duet songs and Antakshari were also held during the annual function. In solo song competition Niranjan Kumar bagged the first prize followed by Savarkar and Priyam Saxena.

What students say

Niranjan said that I am very glad after receiving first prize in this competition. He said that such programmes provide a stage to upcoming artistes to hone their skills and gain confidence.

Shubham averred that more than cultural programmes, I like sports and games. Whenever sports competitions are organised in the college I invariably take part in them.

Shalikram said that he likes cricket most. But at the same time participates in cultural programmes as they are also part of our life.

 

Khadi's popularity continues

Bhopal, Mar 18: Though most of the young generation opts for dresses made of fibre-based cloth and jeans, yet still there is a large section of people who like to wear Khadi clothes most the time. There are many celebrities also who wear Khadi clothes on special occasions. Saris, Salwar suits, bed sheets, blankets for curtains of Khadi are liked by a number of women. Bhopal Today Team talked to Bhopalites to know the reason behind their liking for Khadi.

What they say

Manoharlal Umariya said that he had been associated with Khadi Gramodyog for the last many years. Here people belonging to all sections of society visit to buy Khadi clothes. Khadi is of four types including cotton, silken, woollen and olycloth. Different kinds of Khadi sell according to weather.

Vijay Tiwari said that he likes Khadi clothes in every season because they give relief to body apart from looking chic.

Vishwas Sarang says that he also likes to always wear Khadi clothes, specially Kosa for comfort as well as good looks.

According to Mahendra Singh Chouhan, a leader, says, 'In our profession Khadi holds pride of place. Therefore, I usually wear Khadi clothes.

Indivar Singh wears Khadi clothes alone because they are durable apart from looking beautiful. I am fond of jackets made of Khadi.
