Playing with colours before Holi

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, Mar 18: Holi, festival of colours, is approaching fast and all Indians are eagerly waiting for it. It is unique festival in which despite the barriers of cast, religion, state, senior and junior people paint each other's face with colour, without any hesitation and the one who is painted also enjoys.

Though the festival of colour is about to come, yet people started to play with colours at Arts Gallery of Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet Evam Kala Academy, at a seven-day-long workshop organised for the senior painters of the state here. Bhopal Today Team discussed with some of the painters as to how they play with colours meaningfully?

Painters say

In Indian panorama celebrations and festivals have special significance so I decided to focus on the festival in my painting. I am painting a picture of Ganesh Chaturthi, in which a man is beating drums. Drum is considered as good omen in Indian culture. Besides, on every good achievement or victory people celebrate their joy by beating drums.

Holi, festival of colour is round the corner. So I decided to sketch a picture on a festival and I did the same.

Dr RC Bhavsagar

I display natural scenes in my paintings. Since long I am die-hard devotee of nature and natural beauty. I sketched a panoramic picture: an ancient huge castle surrounded by hills and in the morning sunrays directly enter the palace. Its panoramic view gives glamorous look. Since long I have been sketching imaginary natural beauty in my pictures.

Shrenik Jain, senior painter
