As soon as the question hour came to an end in the state assembly on Tuesday, the Opposition parties MLAs taking benefit of the zero hour, stood up from their seats and started talking loudly on various issues, leading a complete chaos in the House. In an attempt to sooth the surcharged atmosphere of the House, Speaker allowed the leader of Opposition, Jamuna Devi to speak.
Thereafter, Jamuna Devi apprised the Speaker of ongoing fast-unto-death agitation in the state capital by the son of late Prof Sabharwal and demanded a CBI probe into the latter's death. At the same time, another Congress MLA, Satyadev Katare stood up from his seat and raised the issue of gruesome murder of five persons at Gadarwara on Monday. He also demanded a probe into the matter. Katare was later joined by his fellow party MLA and former state minister, Sajjan Singh Verma, who also reiterated the demand of a probe into Gadarwada carnage.
The Opposition parties MLAs later staged a walk-out from the assembly when the Speaker `turned down' their plea to allow a discussion on Gadarwara murder case as well as a CBI probe into late Prof Sabharwal murder case.
SUNIL NAYAK STAGES WALK-OUT OVER ILLEGAL APPOINTMENT
The assembly on Tuesday witnessed another walk-out by suspended BJP MLA, Sunil Naik. The MLA who had recently been suspended by the Bharatiya Janata Party for joining hands with Uma Bharati led Bharatiya Janshakti Party, wanted to draw the attention of Speaker towards an illegal appointment at Basnera village panchayat under Jatara assembly constituency of Tikamgarh district but the Speaker did not pay any heed to his call-attention proposal. Apparently annoyed over the matter, Nayak staged a walk-out, claiming that he will sit on dharna in front the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the premises of state assembly in protest against acceptance of his call-attention motion.
Later talking to this newspaper, Nayak alleged that one Mangal Singh Yadav, a native of Kolrai village and a relative of the state minister Akhand Pratap Singh, was appointed as panchayat secretary at Basnera village in violation to the laid-down norms. He said that Mangal Singh, notwithstanding being a native of Kolrai village, was appointed as panchayat secretary of Basnera village, which is illegal. In this regard, he also lodged complaint with the officials concerned on a number of occasions but the officials too gave legal sanction to his appointment, claiming Mangal Singh to be a native of Basnera.
