Sensex below 15,000 ever since Aug '07

News of the bail-out of Bear Stearns and the US Fed's cut in its discount rate has spelled doom for the Indian stocks as it fell almost 5 per cent to below 15,000 on Monday.
 
Anil Ambani’s DTH to beam this month  

Mumbai, Mar 17:
Big TV Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications (RCOM), will launch direct-to-home (DTH) services commercially by the end of this month.
 
Electricity on demand by 2012 

New Delhi, Mar 17:
Government on Monday said the country will have electricity on demand by 2012 and it needs nuclear energy to meet future demand.
 
UCO Bank slashes home loan rates  

New Delhi, Mar 17:
Responding to the plea of the Finance Minister P Chidambaram to moderate home loan rates, public sector lender UCO Bank on Monday reduced the rates by 0.25 per cent.
 
Oil trades at fresh record of $111.80 

Singapore, Mar 17:
Oil prices surged to a new high in Asian trade on Monday of nearly $112 as the US currency slumped to a fresh low against the euro, sparking a rush of funds into commodities, dealers said.
