Resolve Tibet issue: China must avoid bloodshed

Around 30 people were killed in violence on Friday in the capital of Tibet, Lhasa. However, according to the exiled government of Tibet in India the toll is around 100 people. Marking the anniversary of 1959 year's struggle against Chinese government, the demonstrators had begun their agitation peacefully, but they became violent on Friday taking up their rights issue. Chinese suppression is said to be responsible behind this. Though, the Chinese government said that religious Guru, Dalai Lama is responsible for this violence. Dalai Lama said the demonstration is symbol of resentment of Tibetans. The Tibetans exiled government cleared that Dalai Lama is not responsible for violence in Lhasa. But he always remains in favour of peaceful solution to this issue. From the period Tibet went into Chinese control, the Chinese origin people are gradually increasing their domination in Tibet. It often comes in the news that Chinese government is exploiting fundamental rights of Tibetans. Army and police have carried out oppressive acts against the people in Tibet. The situation has changed and questions are being raised on the origin of Tibeta. In such a condition it is natural to become violent. It has become essential to give a fair deal to the Tibetans. Silence of the international community on to the suppression and violation of human rights of Tibetans is painful. This issue needs to be raised at international level. Other countries including America and Europe should come forward to help the suppressed Tibetans. However, Indian Foreign Affairs Minister said that Indian government has kept an eye on the violent agitation of Tibetans. The government is serious about the incidents taking place in Lhasa. But, this is not enough. Tibet issue should not be considered an internal matter of China and it should be raised at international fora. Though, several countries, including America and even United Nations advocate about giving freedom of expression there. But it does not make any difference. International community should take a firm initiative to check the violation of fundamental rights of Tibetans.
