These days many self-dependent women have converged on Bhopal. These women who have carved out their identities in the society by the dint of their hard work and dedication, have come to attend Swayamsiddha programme at Bharat Bhawan. The programme focuses on women artists and sculptors. They are giving live demonstration of their art at Bharat Bhawan. Bhopal Today Team talked to some these women artists to know about their works and lives.

Sampa Shah is a resident of Bhopal itself. She has been giving his valuable contribution to arts and sculpture for the last 20 years. Throwing light on this long period in the service of art, she says, 'I feel pride and self-satisfaction while working in this field. Still I am very much pleased since people from near and afar come to watch my masterpieces. It want nothing more than that they shower encomiums on me for pieces of my sculpture. Exhibitions of Sampa Shah are not confined to Bharat Bhawan alone but have been organised in foreign countries also include Singapore. She has bagged AIFA award twice apart from getting national scholarship. She wants to move farther in this field and aspires to bring glory to the country.
Manisha Bhattacharya is a resident of Delhi. She has been making ceramic pieces of art for the last 23 years. Most of her time is spent on the potter's wheel on which she gives shape to her masterpieces. She has bagged several scholarships and awards including junior and senior fellowships. Before exhibiting her masterpieces at Bharat Bhawan she has organised exhibitions of her art in Britain, US and other foreign countries. Manisha told Bhopal Today Team
that she is very much impressed by Bhopal's beauty.
Aseema Bhatt is a film artist. But a decade ago she also entered the field of art and craft. She said that she is very much contended and pleased to have joined this field. I feel a sense of satisfaction within ever since I have entered this field, she added. A native of Bihar, Aseema has settled down in New Delhi to carry out her activities further. Her journey to perfection, name and fame still continues. She says she wants to touch the sky as far as art is concerned.
