The names of other hopefuls for the post of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yusuf Raza Gillani,Shah Mehmood Quereshi and Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar were never before in the reckoning. Zardari seems to have propped up their names to create confusion and to emerge as a consensus leader. Benazir would have never sidelined the old faithfuls as ambitious Zardari has done. It may look farfetched now but true to his character, Zardari is capable of joining forces with Musharraf and dumping Nawaz Sharif.
