Liquor addiction on rise in BHEL area

Bhopal, Mar 13: Drunkard people can be seen easily in BHEL township in the evening. This business of liquor selling and addiction spread not only in colonies but in shanties also and several families are facing crisis.

Police and liquor have become a good business for businessmen. A report of Chandresh Malviya on spreading business of addiction in township.

Shanties have developed in BHEL area as the colonies are being developed.The government has to face loss of crores of rupees as the residents of shanties use electricity and water illegally.

Whereas the residents of these slums are consuming liquor and addicted of drugs abusing. Police and businessmen are hand in gloves with each other and helping this business multiple day and night. In spite of checking these activities the police personnel pay attention on collecting money and the businessmen doing illegal business.

Most of the youths living in shanties are addicted. In due course they use drug as they become habitual who were using it as a fun earlier.

These youths go at any extent to fulfil their requirements as loot, snatching, murder etc.

This illegal business is flourishing in these areas- Govindpura, Arjun Nagar, Indra Puri, Sonagiri, Anand Nagar, Berkhera Pathani, Piplani. Though, there are a lot of licensed wine shops in these areas but even after it liquor is being sold here illegally.

Bhopal, Mar 13: Madhya Pradesh Finance Department's employees will observe a day's strike tomorrow in support of various demands. ''All 53 treasuries and 153 sub-treasuries will be closed. Transactions amounting to about Rs 1,000 crore will be affected. If demands are not met, a relay hunger strike will take place from March 24 to 26. Ultimately, an indefinite strike will be launched on March 27,'' Sanyukt Morcha Samiti state Convenor Aditya Nagar told reporters here today.

Demands included a four-tier payscale for officers, removal of salary anomalies, a new payscale for third and fourth class treasury employees.
