Speaker Ishwardas Rohani directed the state government to provide proper treatment to the independent legislator Munna Singh, who was ailing from cancer.
When the House assembled for the day Munna Singh, carrying medicines in his hands, addressed Rohani that he was agitated over not getting proper treatment and he could not get injections due to high cost.
On this the speaker directed Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra to ensure the arrangement of treatment today itself. Rohani said to Singh that his problem would be sorted out still if he visited him personally.
However, the leader of opposition Jamuna Devi and other members alleged that the state government was not providing any aid to the legislator. Ramlakhan Sharma (CPI-M) said that three injections costing Rs 1,22,000 have to be provided to the ailing legislator today itself. The members took their seats after the Speaker's directive.
3,000 tapwater schemes ayed

Madhya Pradesh Public Health Engineering Minister Chaudhry Chandrabhan Singh today said in the Assembly that despite a drought situation in several parts of the state, potable water supply was the government's foremost priority and 3,000 tapwater schemes were sanctioned at Rs 600 crore.
Replying to a debate on budgetary demands for his department, he said, ''I ask the main opposition Congress members to urge the Centre to relax a rule whereby panchayats have been bestowed the responsibility of maintaining tapwater schemes.''
Checkdams, stopdams, percolation tanks have been constructed under a special focus on water-recharging. A Rs 428-crore scheme was drafted to supply pure water to about 3,800 habitations and thereby tackle the flouride problem. After the Minister's reply, demands pertaining to his department were passed.
No-confidence motion against Speaker

A no-confidence motion is being brought against Speaker Ishwardas Rohani by the entire opposition. Narayan Tripathi (Samajwadi Party) informed the Assembly of the motion while Deputy Speaker Hazarilal Raghuvanshi was in the chair this afternoon and a debate was underway over the Public Health Engineering Department's budgetary demands.
''The motion is against the Speaker's wanton attitude. A notice - signed by 25 MLAs - has been handed to Principal Secretary (Assembly) AK Payasi,'' Tripathi later told reporters. In his reaction, Rohani said, ''it is not a no-confidence but a confidence motion as it shows that I consider discipline as supreme while fulfilling my role.''
