Tata Motors to raise Rs 4,000cr 

Mumbai March 12:
Tata Motors, the country's leading bus and truck maker and third-ranked passenger vehicle maker, plans to raise Rs 4,000 crore ($1 billion) by issuing appropriate securities in the foreign and domestic markets.
 
Sensex ends flat, Infosys drops 3% 

Mumbai March 12:
The Sensex opened with a huge positive gap of 418 points at 16,541 on positive cues from the global markets. The index moved up to a high of 16,683 in early deals.
 
Tata Steel Q3 consolidated net up 34% 

Kolkata March 12:
Tata Steel has posted a 34.21% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,416 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 after the acquisition of Corus early last year.
 
No plan to amend SEZ Act: Kamal Nath 

New Delhi March 12:
Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath made it clear today that the government has no plan to amend the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Act saying it is "working well."
