Hockey sidelined |
| It is matter of shame that Indian Hockey failed to make an entry in Olympics -first time after 1928! Now it has taken a political turn! The whole nation is responsible for such a debacle of Indian Hockey. Undue weight age is always given to Cricket. There is commercialisation in Cricket. The Hockey players do not stand anywhere near Cricket as far as money and luxuries are concern. How many times Hokey players got such attention and how much needful is done for them? Practically Cricket has become National game (Cricket was a game of Nawabs -Lords of England) and Hockey was (is) our National Game on paper only. Like most persons goes after moneyed people and so happened to Cricket -hockey was sidelined by everyone-public and persons concerned responsible for its growth. Who really cared for Hockey? It is high time the original Indian Hockey is revived by extra care in training and money support and changing technique of playing -observing minutely video tapes of winning and good hockey team -matches.
