2 IHM students die in road mishap

Bhopal, Mar 12: Two students from city-based Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) were killed when a milk-laden truck collided head-on with their motorcycle here last night, police said today. The incident took place on Chetak Bridge at 0130 hrs last night.

Mumbai-residents Swapnil Pande (20) and Rohan Srikant Prabhu (20), BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration final year students, were rushed to Hamidia hospital where they were declared brought dead.

IHM sources said that parents of Swapnil had arrived and took the charge of the body following the autopsy while Rohan's parents would reach the town this evening. The institute observed one-day holiday in this regard, sources added.

Gamblers arrested

Police have arrested four gamblers from B sector , Sarvadharma Colony, Kolar Road and recovered Rs 26 thousand from their possession. Police raided last night at this place.

The arrested accused included, Goverdhan, Uday Kothari, Ramarao, Shoab, Santosh and Sunil.

Police had received information that the accused were gambling near a temple in B sector. Cases under gambling act were registered against all the accused.

Ganja seized from woman smuggler

Hanuman Ganj police have arrested a woman smuggler from New Kabadkhana area and recovered 1kg ganja from her possession.

According to police, Kundan Bai(60), resident of New Kabadkhana, behind Eye hospital was arrested from her home.

The accused woman had hidden ganja packet who basically belongs to Bakrauli village, Khandwa.

Dowry case registered

Shahjehanabad police have registered a dowry case against husband including five persons,in laws of the deceased woman.

Preeti W/o Sudhir, resident of Sharma Colony was died due to burn injuries.

The investigation of the case was handed over to CSP, Shahjehanabad. CSP in his investigation found that the in laws used to torture the deceased as she had not brought dowry according to their expectation. No accused was arrested so far.
