Prempura, Bhadbhada area to be tourist spots

Bhopal, Mar 12: Mayor Sunil Sood along with BMC commissioner Nikunj Kumar Shrivastava inspected the project of Tourism Development Corporation to develop Prempura and other areas along with the banks of Upper Lake in Bhadbhada area as tourist spots.

MPTDC managing director Ashwini Lohani threw light on the details of the project. He informed the Mayor and Commissioner that parking lot would be developed near Prempura immersion site and Food Zone and Children's Park would be developed on the vacant land on the banks of the Upper Lake in Bhadbhada area. He also threw light on the landscaping plan under which rope-way would be made between Prempura and Sevaniya Gond villages. The maps made for these projects were also inspected. Sood said that the project should be developed in such a way that the devotees bringing idols for immersion at Prempura do not face any difficulty.

The Mayor and Commissioner later visited Prempura village and heard people's problems. They instructed the accompanying officers to immediately redress the problems pointed out by residents of Prempura.

'Make call centre more effective'

Meanwhile, BMC commissioner Nikunj Kumar Shrivastava has instructed the officers to make BMC Call Centre more effective. He instructed that presence of attendant at the call centre should be ensured round the clock. The BMC commissioner told officers of Health, Waterworks, Engineering, Electricity, Encroachment and Planning sections to undertake daily review of their respective departments and redress complaint immediately. Shrivastava also instructed that report of complaints received daily at the call centre and pending complaints should be put up before him on a daily basis apart from registering the feedback received form the complainant in the complaint register. He also instructed the telephone attendants to be polite with complainants.

Action against diggers of tubewells on roads

In the meantime, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation has warned that it would take stern action against the people who dig tubewells on roads illegally. He instructed that zonal officers must immediately compound the tubewells being dug illegally on roads and realise the cost of damage to road from the concerning person. In case the concerning person fails to give damages, action of compounding his property must be initiated under the provisions of Municipal Corporation Act 1956.
