the number of divisions in Madhya Pradesh would increase to
11. Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressing a Jan
Ashirwad Rally on Sunday in Chhindwara announced to make Chhindwara
a division. Earlier, an announcement was made to make Shahdol
a division. In new Chhindwara division, three districts, Chhindwara,
Seoni and probably Balaghat district would be included. Chief
Minister said that soon a Commissioner office would be established
at Chhindwara. All the formalities would be completed within
this month in this connection. Though, Chouhan in his announcement
did not clarify which districts would be included in new Chhindwara
division excepting Chhindwara. But, sources believe that there
may be four districts in it. There are speculations that Betul
or Narsinghpur would be included in it. At present Betul district
comes under Hoshangabad division and Narsinghpur is under
Jabalpur division. Narsinghpur is adjoining Jabalpur division.
It would not be right to disconnect it with Jabalpur, but
by including Betul in this division the form of division would
be flourishing and the complete region would be basic form
of Satpura. But, what would happen of Hoshangabad, is not
known. Till now why was Hoshangabad not given an independent
and complete form? Commissioner of Hoshangabad and Bhopal
districts was same and in such a situation either Hoshangabad
should be merged in Bhopal division or it should be given
independent existence. Its divisional headquarters should
be separate and commissioner should also be separate. It is
necessary that reconstitution of divisions should be given
reasonable and basic form, so that administrative work goes
on smoothly and people do no face problems. In the meanwhile,
while making Chhindwara a division care should be taken in
including any district in it so that there are no adverse
reactions.
