Shah Rukh Khan owned Kolkata franchise of the Indian Premier League has been named as the 'Kolkata Knight Riders'. Addressing a press conference, the Bollywood icon also revealed the Kolkata team's jersey colours, black and golden. The jersey has been designed by Reebok.
A slew of advertisements were also released as a part of marketing strategy to capture the youth market. Shah Rukh, who was at his wittiest best during the entire exercise, said that the target audience for his team's fan base was the nation's youth and not just the Kolkatans.
The team slogan 'Korbo, Lorbo....Jeetbo Re (Do anything, fight...to win) and the logo, a Golden helmet were also unveiled. Shah Rukh's team also boasts of an anthem of its own. It has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar and sung by Vishal. The superstar urged the public of Kolkata to embrace his team with open hearts.
The team will be captained by former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, while former Australian World Cup winning coach John Buchanan will be at the helm. Besides, the team also contains some of the best of international talents like Ricky Ponting, Ishant Sharma and Shoaib Akthar.
