Bhopal, Mar 11: Several national and international players expressed their resentment over Indian hockey team's defeat in the qualifying round of Olympis, by playing hockey on road near Aishbagh Stadium. It may mentioned that Indian Hockey Team did not qualify for the Olympic for first time in last 80 years. They also demanded for resignation of the Chairman of Indian Hockey Federation KPS Gill.

They said that KPS Gill is responsible for defeat of Indian Hockey Team. On the occasion, former international hockey player Syed Khurshid Ali, national player Mohammad Amin, Mohammad Shamim, Farzan Uddin, Faizuddin, Amir Khan, Shahid Zaman, Mushir, Minazuddin, Shakir Shahbaz, Kadir, Amir Hussain, Mohasin, Nadimuddin, Abdul Shahad, Shakir Hussain, Shahwar Khan, Tanzil, Zaid Khan, Hasib Khan, Nasim Khan, Naim Beg, Rashid Chand, Yunus Khan, Zafar Gauri, Hanif Gauri, Farzan Khan, Sohel Gauri, Amzad Gauri, Salman Khan and others were present.

Effigy burnt

Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) burnt effigy of Gill. Later, they staged demonstration and raised slogan "Save Hockey- Remove Gill" under the leadership of young leader Asif Zaki. They also organised public court (Jan Adalat) at Roshanpura on Tuesday. On the occasion, large number of workers of Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress, National Students Union of India (NSUI) were present.

Meanwhile, former National Hockey Player and Corporator Mohammad Shamim informed that National and International Hockey Players and hockey lovers would pay tribute on Wednesday at 11 am. They would also organise prayer meeting at Aishbagh Stadium for the development of hockey. He also appealed to the people to attend the meeting and make it success.

MPYC rally today

A meeting of national and international hockey players was organised under the chairmanship of the General Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) Javed Hafiz on Tuesday at Central Library Ground. Olympian Jalaluddin Rizwi, Sameer Dad, International Hockey Player Mumtaz Malik, S Khurshid Ali, Altaf-Ur-Rahman, National Hockey Player Rashid Chand, Hasan Ali, Firoz Ali, Mohammad Safdar Abdul Wahid, Rehan Khan, Mohammad Zafar, Owes Hasan Muinuddin Qureshi opposed the Hitleric behaviour of KPS Gill. Save Hockey Public Out Burst Rally would be taken out on Wednesday and they would send memorandum by the name of the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh through FAX to look into the matter and take action.

Zaved Hafiz said that the rally would be taken out from Nawab Marriage Hall, Chhawni, Mangalwara Road on Wednesday at 4 pm and it would be reached at Central Library. The effigy of KPS Gill would be hanged to death and last rites would be performed. It is mentioned that the hockey players did not qualify in Olympic due to the Hitleric behaviour of KPS Gill. National Hockey Player Rehan Khan, Muinuddin Qureshi appealed to the hockey players to attend the rally in large number and make it success.
