BMC is poisoning people: Pandey

By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, Mar 11: Instead of providing safe drinking water Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) is poisoning the residents of Bhopal by supplying contaminated water, said opposition leader in the Municipal Corporation, Ashok Pandey.

While addressing a press meet, Pandey alleged that BMC is collecting Rs 60 per month from the residents as water cess. Yet the Corporation is poisoning the residents by supplying contaminated water instead of pure drinking water. The water being supplied by BMC is impure and it contains dirt and mud in it, as a result the people of the city are inflicted by various deadly diseases, he added.

He said that about 16-lakh people of the state capital were rendered helpless and have to drink contaminated water, as they don't have any other option. He also accused the mineral water suppliers as they are also supplying impure water. To prove his point, he showed inedible fungus and dirt in water through an experiment with the help of Electroliser in front of journalists and other people.

Pandey warned the BMC authorities of protest if the Corporation would not supply pure drinking water to the residents.
