In today's changing scenario, women are excelling in all fields. In this modern era, women have proved that they are equally competent with their male counterparts. In almost every field, women have made their own identity and proved their abilities. In this, we cannot deny the position attained by Indian women in the world arena. Sania Mirza, Sonia Gandhi, Indira Nuyi, Kalpana Chawla, Sunita Williams are those Indian women who have brought laurels to the country and carved out a niche of their own.
On the occasion of International Woman's Day, a seminar
was organised at Barkatullah University. Bhopal Today Team
interviewed some girl students at this programme to know about
their future plans and aspirations.

Aparna Kulkarni, a student of says, 'I am doing Post-Graduation in Education from Barkatullah University. The main aim of this programme is to generate awareness among women fraternity about changed times. It aims to enable women to know their rights and excel in life. There are still some areas in villages, where women are being victimised. We have to take initiative and work together to ensure development of women'.
Zeba Khan, a student of M.A. Final year says 'Today, Indian women are excelling in all fields. Women have given a new identity to the field of education, as there are more women teachers than men. This message must reach the masses through this programme. Government should make stringent rules to protect women from atrocities'.
Somkanwar said, 'First of all, I would like to thank Head of the Department for organising this programme on International Woman's Day. The main purpose of this programme is to orient women towards education. I am going to work for the development of women after completing my course. It is very necessary to focus on women education for their development'.
