Bhopal, Mar 10: Indian television Producer and Director Gajendra Singh, who is known for pioneering and popularising game shows like 'Antakshri' and talent shows like 'Sa Re Ga Ma' on Indian television, believes that verdict of public was supreme despite all the debate over SMS voting and decision by judges.

Singh, who arrived in the 'City of Lakes' for shooting two episodes of 'Star Plus' musical show 'Chhote Ustad', said here today that he too felt that selecting talent on the basis of SMS voting did not do justice to talent on some occasions.

Agreeing that he had adopted this method for the first time in ZEE Television, he said he himself had come to doubt its merit when immensely talented singers were eliminated. He was forced to think whether the format had loopholes. ''However, after giving serious consideration, I concluded that there was something different about those chosen by public,'' Singh said, adding that it was seen that the success graph of a chosen singer as a professional was also good.

He said public's choice could not be rejected and many times their choice coincided with that of judges. Regarding his decision to quit Zee Group, Singh said the Zee Group was still like a family for him. However, at one stage, he felt that his line of thinking and that of the ZEE were not matching.

He said it was then that he decided to form his own production house Sai Baba Telefilm Limited, which would soon venture into film production. While he would direct one film himself, one film would be directed by his creative director Ritesh Pandya. Pandya said '9X' channel was going to soon launch a new musical talent show 'Chak De Bachche' for children with a different format.

He said Singh would present the show in a very interesting manner. Equal opportunities would be provided to rural and urban talents. Besides, two programmes 'Junoon' and 'War Parivar' were going to be air on different channels.
