Provide space for car parking

There is a Town & Country Planning department. It has experts to map out colonies. However, these experts are still lacking in proper planning of colonies.

The number of vehicles on the roads have been rising every year. When colonies are being planned- be it govt/ or private, there should be planning with place for parking of vehicles. One may excuse the colonies planned earlier but at least now onwards the colonies could be planned in a better way with provision for keeping of vehicles. However, the practice of covering extra space in front of houses, in the name of social forestry is not desirable. Cars are our greater priority than trees. For tree planting too there should be enough space left in the colonies, however, the space being left in the colonies have been usurped by greedy people on the pretext of running schools. This greed is dangerous and the govt agencies which are authorised to give permission, should never succumb to any excuses.

Similarly, the planners should avoid constructing shops by sides of roads (at least main roads where a large number of vehicles have to pass) as has been the general practice- example is shops built by covering `nullah' in No. 11 Bus Stop. Once shops come the road becomes even narrower. Main roads should be made two-way. Shops are an important avenue for employment and hence the planners should allot enough space and the same rules should be followed by private colonizers.

People having cars need to cooperate with the police dept. A little walk from the parking place is desirable and the practice of halting cars on the main road in front of Neelam restaurant is dangerous as it is a busy road and mishaps are not ruled out.
