India's Arjun Atwal won the $2,000,000 Malaysian Open at the Kota Permai Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. Atwal carded a splendid 64 on day four putting his total to a magnificient 18-under 270 to be atop the leaderboard.
Atwal, who shot nine birdies in round four, won on the second playoff hole to win the tournament for the second time. The 34-year-old had earlier won the title in 2003.
Peter Hedblom of Sweden stood second with a total of 18-under, while Simon Dyson of England and Kane Webber of Australia were tied third at 17-under 271. Italy's Francesco Molinari took the fifth spot on the leaderboard with a 16-under.
India's Jyoti Randhawa too kept the tri-colour flying high as he made a top ten finish. Randhawa carded 15-under at the end of the tournament to be tied sixth with three others.
