`Centre only clearing debts nation owes to farmers`  

Kundrakudi, Mar 8:
Claiming that the Centre was only clearing the debts the nation owed to farmers by writing off loans to the tune of Rs 60,000 crore, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Saturday said he would soon explain in parliament how funds for the purpose were to be mobilised.
 
Central govt employees get a 6% DA hike 

New Delhi, Mar 8:
Bringing festive cheer to 50 lakh Central government employees ahead of Holi, the Cabinet on Friday decided to increase the dearness allowance (DA). The DA will be increased to 47% of gross salary from 41% earlier.
