Girls in Bihar village run news channel

Agencies

Chand Kewari, Mar 8: It's extraordinary but true; a team of five girls from Chand Kewari village in India's eastern Bihar state have begun a news channel and are successfully running it. The girls are being assisted in running the channel by Mission Eye International, a self help group.

The Appan Samachar channel run by Class IX students went on air from December 6, 2007 and the girls pitch in for everything including reporting, editing and news reading.
