In BHEL Bhopal, the forum of Women in Public Sector celebrated International Women's Day on the theme "The New Meillennium Woman: Dreams Unlimited". RK Singh, Executive Director, BHEL, Ms Prabha Singh, President, BHEL Ladies Club, Vijay Joshi, Group General Manager, MC Prasad, General Manager (HR), Ms Gazala Ali Khan, Regional Commissioner, Provident Fund, Dr Veena Arora, President, WIPS, office bearers of WIPS and a large number of Women Employees were present in the Cultural Hall.
Singh in his address appreciated the efforts of WIPS BHEL Chapter and said that a forum has not only helped Women employees in resolving their problems but also contributed in adding to their heights at work places. Calling Women as a source of energy according to Hindu philosophy he called them the creator of the Universe. He also highlighted the role of Indian Women in conserving and propagating ethics and values of Indian Religion and Culture which undoubtedly is promoting India as the most powerful Country in the coming years.
Joshi in his address said how Women have been worshiped in India and it has been our tradition to accord them prestigious position in the society. Citing some of his poems highlighting the role and importance of Indian Women as Mother, Sister, Wife, etc, he emphasized the value of Women in Indian society.
Ms Khan focused the role of working Women in 21st Century and said that Women employees in all the fields are not only at par with their Man counterparts, but in some of the fields the Women have excelled Man. She said that Women believe in teamwork and it is the essence of success.
Prasad in his address applauded the performance of Women employees in BHEL and said how they have contributed in the growth of this great Company.
Earlier, Dr Arora welcomed the guests and Ms Mamta Dingrocha, Secretary, WIPS read out the Annual Report. Ms DC Bhalla presented Balance Sheet of the current financial year. Dr Sarla Menon, Ms Shubhra Chaturvedi were also present on this occasion. The programme was coordinated by Ms Veena Pradhan and Ms Sunita Rai compered the programme.
