`Change is changeless rule of nature'

Bhopal, Mar 7: 2nd International three-day long conference on Globalisation, Technology and Economic Transformation organised by the Department Regional Planning and Economic Growth, Barkatullah University (BU) under the aegis of The Deccan Geographical Society was inaugurated here at Gyan Vigyan Bhawan on Friday. On this occasion Dr Ram Prasad, former Vice Chancellor of BU was Chief Guest and Dr Sompal Shastri, Chairman of State Planning Board and Economic Advisor to Govt of Madhya Pradesh was special guest. Meanwhile Bhupal Singh Vice Chancellor BU presided over function.

In the outset of the function Prof HS Yadav delivered a welcome speech and honoured the guests with bouquets. Followed by it Dr P Nag was awarded with the Bhugol Award for his contribution in the field of Geography and Remote Sensation.

The chief guest, Dr Ram Prasad, Vice President of BU focused on the twin-burning problems global warming and climate change. While speaking on the sustainable development he development is imperatively needed but not at the cost of next generation. We have to utilise natural resources very thoughtfully in order to save some resource for the next generation. He said that in the conservation of nature women play vital role that is why all the natural days like Forest Day, Water Day etc followed by International Women' Day that is March 8.

P Nag winner of Bhugol Award thanked to the Deccan Geographical Society (DGS) for honouring him and promised to bring name to name with his hard work and rigorous study in the field of Geography and Remote Sensation. He added that change is changeless rule of nature so change unavoidable. We have to adopt with the changing situation of nature and bring solution for it otherwise doomsday is not far away. Dr Sompal Shastri focused on the bio-diversity in India.

Bhupal Singh, Vice Chancellor of BU expressed his delight for getting chance to host an International conference in university. He added that conference is interdisciplinary in nature which scholars from Economics, Environmental Science and other social Science are taking part in the deliberations. GIS and Remote Sensing papers will focus on economic and environmental issues.

Up to 250 delegate from India and abroad participated in the conference.
