Agencies

Chandigarh, Mar 6: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday urged Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to talk to the Government of Pakistan for clemency to Indian citizen Sarabjit Singh. Sarabjit is facing death penalty for his alleged involvement in a bomb blast 1990. Badal's request comes in the wake of the rejection of the mercy petition of Sarabjit Singh by the Pakistan President General Parvez Musharraf, Chief Minister's Media Advisor H S Bains said here. The Chief Minister is likely to take up the matter with the Prime Minister, Bains added.
