Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, Mar 6: It is said that if the wish is made in an earnest and honest way then it is always accepted. Maha Shivaratri is the day when devotees offer prayers and worship to their deity Lord Shiva. They have a firm belief that Lord Shiva will definitely make their lives full of happiness.

There is another mythological belief that Lord Shiva was married to the daughter of King of Mountains Himalaya today and that is why the festival of Maha Shivaratri is being celebrated. The main thing about this festival is that all family members irrespective of their age offer worship to Lord Shiva. In this context, City Mirror tried to find out from the localites about what they know about this festival and the way of celebrating it.

Today's day is very special

First of all, we offer prayers to Lord Shiva in the beginning of this day. As Bholenath is very fond of 'Bhang' we drank some of it. Our whole day is going to be devoted in worship of Lord Shiva'.

Lord Shiva is my deity

Mukesh Shroff, who is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva says 'Lord Shiva is the Lord of the Lords and my deity. He is very generous as well as aggressive. I have decided to devote all time in worshipping him, leaving all works aside.
