Foot path shops to challenge hotels  

Bhopal, Mar 6: People would be able to enjoy delicious dishes even at the footpaths of the capital. Like good hotels now the vendors would serve dishes wearing hand gloves. Moreover sufficient place for parking includig potable water and sitting arrangements would be available here.

Actually, the municipal corporation with the help of union government is going to change hawkers corners into street food court. In this connection the BMC soon would make prepare a detailed project report (DPR).

the central government with a view to uplift the standard of food items sold road side has decided to provide better facilities including facilities for vendors and visitors. in this connection a scheme has been chalked out under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renovation Mission (JNNURM). Union Urban Development Ministry has selected some cities of the country for the same. Bhopal has also been included in it. Under this scheme, the central government with a view to upgrade street food court would give grant to the related institution.

Vendors would be wearing uniform and gloves

The vendors working in street food court would have to wear uniform and gloves compulsorily. The advertising company would provide uniform and gloves to the vendors free of cost. The advertisements on the kiosks and uniform would recover charges and would increase its income from concerning agency.

Municipal Corporation would implement compulsory rules for hygienic food and cleanliness at the street food corners. The working people here would have to pay only fee for electric, water and maintenance.

What would be in Street Food Court- Kiosks would be built for the shopkeepers to change Hawker corner into Street Food Court. Good place facilities would be made available for washing and cooking purpose. Water tap facility and drainage system for passing dirty water would be arranged. Kiosks would be kept safe from heat and rain. along with this seating arrangements for visitors and tables would be made arranged. FM radio facility would also be made available for entertainment of the people in street food court with no smoking zone where use of plastic would be banned.
