Now Panchayat of aged and disabled people

Bhopal, Mar 5: On his birthday today Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited "Asara", the old age home here this afternoon and sought the blessings of the elderly people residing there. He also met the disabled persons and children. He said that a Panchayat of the aged and disabled persons would be held soon at Bhopal.

Chouhan announced to provide a vehicle for the "Asara" from his discretionary fund. He directed the Collector RK Mathur to provide the same without delay. He directed the Commissioner, Bhopal Municipal Corporation to carry out Rs six lakh works to ensure proper sewage system at the age old home. Lauding the activities carried out at 'Asara" for the welfare of the elderly people he presented a cheque of Rs 5.30 lakh as grant to the old age home.

The Chief Minister met the elderly people including 100-year-old Fakir Chand. He assured them that all out efforts would be made to ensure help and welfare of the destitute people. He sought their blessings to work with greater vigour for welfare of people.

The Chief Minister visited " Akanksha", the education centre for physically and mentally challenged children conducted by Gandhi Bhawan Trust on the same premises and met the children. In all 57 children are staying at this centre. The Chief Minister was accompanied by wife Ms Sadhana Singh; Member of Parliament Rampal Singh; Dr VD Mehta and Dr Ajay Mehta.

Ramchandra Bhargawa informed that 95 elderly people neglected by their children are residing in "Asara". Arrangement for naturopathy has also been made here. He said that it is after a considerably long time that a Chief Minister has visited it. The elderly people blessed Chouhan and extended him their hearty greetings on his birthday.
