Karachi, Mar 4: Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, who is already facing a life ban over misconduct charges has once again criticised the policies of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), saying it has been unfair to leading Pakistan players.

Shoaib said this in an interview to a private channel.

Shoaib said the Board was manhandling players like Abdul Razzaq, Danish Kaneria and Shahid Afridi.

The PCB banned Razzaq after he joined the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) whereas Kaneria and Afridi were demoted in contracts list announced by the Board in January.

Shoaib was also dropped from the contract list for “lack of form and fitness”.

The PCB had filed a misconduct case against him and the Board’s disciplinary committee is going to decide his fate later this month. The PCB is likely to announce his verdict after the meeting of its Executive Board scheduled for March 22 in Islamabad.

According to The News, the Committee is likely to take hold of the tape of his recent interview in which he has criticised the Board.

Shoaib is charged with criticising the policies of the Board despite being in a 12-month probation after being banned for 13 matches and fined Rs 3.4 million last year over several charges of misconduct.
