Batting of Sachin Tendulkar, bowling of Praveen Kumar and Irfan Pathan today created a story of honour on Brisbane ground. Lion of Punjab, Bhajji and prince of Ranchi, Mahi, brought laurels winning over the Kangaroos and created this legend.
When the Team India won the second final, the atmosphere in the city was like Deepawali and Eid. The people watching television burst firecrackers and distributed sweets. They were reciting only one word that Humne Qila Fateh Kar Liya(we have won the fort).
Along with the new and old city, the people in Bairagarh township also celebrated the occasion on winning by team India.
Union Minister and state Congress president, Suresh Pachauri, Mayor, Sunil Sood first congratulated just after winning the match.
Sports Minister, Tukojirao Puar, former collector, Iqbal Singh Bais, Anurag Jain on the winning of team India said that little created history then the big ones brought laurels. Congratulations team India.
ADG, Surendra Singh said that it is really enjoying. Each of the players played well. The overall team played well. Congratulations to team India.
IG, Bhopal range, Shailendra Shrivastava said that this winning of India has increased the courage of youths. Citizens of Bhopal at Roshanpura, Mata Mandir, Teen Shed burnt fire crackers and celebrated winning of team India.
BJP district president, Alok Sanjar distributed sweets at 10 No. bus stop area. Whereas, on the Old Campion ground the hundreds of children danced Bhangara with the coach Suresh Chenani. Fire crackers were burnt at Chitransh College premises at 11 number bus stop.
College secretary, Ashwini Shrivastava started offering sweets to the people.
Chairman of Rajiv Gandhi School, Sandeep Chouhan and secretary , Saiyyad Sazid Ali celebrate winning of team India at 5 pm. The same celebration was observed at the residence of Dilip Builders at E/5 Arera Colony. Whereas, president of MP Rifle Association, Aruneshwar Singhdev, JP Yadav, Mohnish Mishra like cricketers were present on the occasion.
Secretary of All India Mayank Chaturvedi Cricket , Sushil Singh Thakur celebrated the occasion in Sarvadharma Colony.

Badminton coach, JC Sharma distributed sweets to the children. Joint Director, Dr Vinod Pradhan, Balu Singh Yadav, Vikas Kharadkar congratulated the players at Academy Centre of TT Nagar stadium.
Along with this the children celebrated the occasion.

Members of Irani Club at Bus Stand and Railway Station , Saiyyad Aslam Ali, Saiyyad Aqram Ali Jafri, Raju along with hundreds people celebrated winning on the road.
Annu Thakur, Rehan Golden, corporator, Zamal Akhtar Peer , corporator, Sageer Mohammed , Aziz Raj burnt fire crackers on the road in Berkheri and Jehangirabad area and sweets were distributed. The celebration was continued till late night.
Former Dean, Department of Commerce, Barkatullah University, Bhopal Dr Mohammad Ishaque Khan said that the victory of Indian Team would give inspiration to the youngsters of the country. The victory of Indian Team is a great harmony between young and senior players. It is a great achievement for defeating the world famous cricket team Australia. Hard labour, right guidance and inspiration were solely responsible for the victory.
What youngsters say
According to Sachin fan Ashwini Gupta, Tendulkar played another sublime innings, with seven fours in 91. Actually, he was the more deserving candidate for man-of-match. Yet, Gupta was happy that his icon has been instrumental in India's win in both the finals.
Praveen Kumar, who bagged four wickets for 46 and was declared man-of-the-match, also drew encomiums from many a city cricket buffs. Saurabh Sharma was of the opinion that instead of Ishant Sharma, it was Praveen who can be described as the greatest find. He also Irfan Pathan who had the responsibility of the final over and his two wickets condemned Australia to a second successive defeat in the final of the tri-nations event.
Gautam Gambhir fan Chaitanya Guru was disappointed that his hero failed to click in the second final even though he was force behind India's victory in the first final with a swashbuckling century. Guru says that man of the series award should have been given to Gambhir as he scored most runs in the series. It is not fair to give both the awards to bowlers only, he added.
