More than 70% polling was recorded on Monday for elections to
the 60-member assembly in the state of Meghalaya, officials
said. "Voting passed off almost peacefully and according
to preliminary reports, the voting percentage may go up as we
are still getting inputs from remote areas," an election
official said.
