Four people, who were planning to loot a petrol pump, were arrested from near a graveyard close to a railway crossing near Pushp apartment in the state capital, police said today. ''On a tip-off, the foursome were cordoned off near the railway crossing and arrested. However, one of their accomplice, Montu, threw away his knife and fled,'' Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad told reporters here today.
The foursome were wanted in connection with various cases. A 12-bore countrymade gun, a 315-bore countrymade gun, two pistols and cartridges were seized from them.
The dacoits were hatching up a conspiracy to Rs two lakh from Saleem Baig, the cashier of the petrol pump.
Vikram alias Vikki is the chieftain of the gang. Several cases of beating up and attempt to murder were registered against him. Other arrested included Kamlesh alias Kamma, Manish Rande alias Golu and Unesh Baig. Manish and Unesh had taken 'supari' to kill a person and had fired upon him in Sehore two days back but their motive failed. The foursome accepted incidents of thefts during preliminary interrogation.
One of dacoits is reward-bearing criminal
Vicky alias Vikram is notorious rewarded criminal and cases of attempt to murder and other are registered against him in several police stations of Indore and Sehore. Police had announced award of Rs 5000 on his arresting. Several cases including attempt to murder and loot are also registered against Kamma alias Kamlesh at different police stations of Indore and Sehore.
Similarly, cases against Manish Ranade alias Golu are also registered. He had attempted to murder a person in Sehore recently. Unesh Beg is accused of murder. He had murdered Chhota Wasim in Shyamla Hills area in the year 2006. All these accused were at large. Notorious Montu is at large.
Two vehicle lifters arrested

Two vehicle lifters have been arrested near Talaiya area in the state capital and 12 two-wheelers seized from them, police said. ''One accused Shankar Lal Meena alias Pappu was a member of Shanu alias Zarrar vehicle lifters gang. Police had earlier seized 19 vehicles from the gang,'' Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad told reporters here.
On a tip-off, police cordoned off Talaiya area and carried out checking of vehicles during which it demanded documents of vehicle from motorcycle-borne Pappu, who was heading from Retghat to Gauhar Mahal area. He was arrested when he could not present it. On the basis of his interrogation, nine vehicles were seized from Ayodhya Nagar and Kurwar. Pappu informed that three vehicles had been sold. A police team had been dispatched to recover them.
Mr Prasad said 15 members of Shanu gang had been arrested two months back. However, Pappu was absconding. On the basis of interrogation of gang members, 45 vehicles had been recovered so far.
Meanwhile, police arrested Shahab (22) with a scooter during checking near Retghat last night. Another two-wheeler was arrested on the basis of his interrogation.
Mobile looted from a girl

Two unknown bike rider looters snatching a mobile from a girl in Ambedkar Nagar when she was returning to home with her mother last night. The incident took place in Kamala Nagar area.
According to police, Ishita(18) D/O Brijesh Choudhary, resident of Sonia Gandhi premises, Kotra, riding on her scooty was returning to home with her mother last night at around 8pm from beauty parlour.
When she reached near Hanuman temple , two bike borne youths snatched her perse. She had kept her mobile in it. The cost of mobile phone was told Rs 1750.
These unknown bike riders were borne on a black colour bike. The rider had wearing helmet. Police have registered a loot case against the unknown looters.
Mobile looted in Subhash Nagar- in yet another incident police have registered a loot incident which had taken place on February 18 when Bala Rajput D/o Jugal Kishre Rajput was returning to home from coaching.
A motorcycle borne looter snatched her purse in which she had kept mobile worth Rs 2900. Police have registered a loot case against unknown looters after investigation. The rising loot incidents in the city have spread fear among the women. All the efforts of police to catch looters have proved futile.
