By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, March 2: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Sunday announced a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh to Ajitesh Argal who was declared man of the match in the finals of Under 19 World Cup cricket match played at Kula Lampur. India lifted the World Cup.

Better known as 'Mintu' in Bhopal, Ajitesh Argal is a right-hand batsman and medium-pace bowler who took up cricket at the age of 10.

Born September 21, 1988, Bhopal, Argal played for his state Madhya Pradesh at the Under-14 level and was included in India's squad for the U-19 World Cup in 2008. He looks up to Kapil Dev and Glenn McGrath because of their fitness and consistency.

Meanwhile, the chain of events that led to India's 'triumph' over Australia, was warmly taken by residents of State capital.

Its was nothing but pathetic spirit for game showcased by Indians. Indians were not leaving the ground without walking away with the win.

Arshad student

Um...Isn't it just a game with a bat and a ball? It was something cricket which only India can play. Balle balle.

Shyam Tiwari, government employee

I have never understood how a wicket keeper, standing way back, can be so certain of win. That was really incredible India.

Misha, student

Excellent balanced game. The Indians regrouped & thrashed them.

Manik Chaturvedi, shopowner
