The chief executive of ICICI Bank Ltd, India`s biggest private-sector bank, said on Friday he did not expect the country`s central bank to ease interest rates soon.

India will host the first global conference on agro-industries, to be held in New Delhi from April 8 to 11, with its focus on their role in economic development and poverty reduction.
 
Maruti domestic sales in Feb at 59,311 units

Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Ltd today reported a marginal increase in domestic sales in February at 59,311 units as against 59,095 units in the corresponding month last year.

Gold prices strengthened to a new peak of Rs 12,565 in the bullion market here today on persistent safe-haven buying from investors in view of rising global cues.

The Union Budget turned out to be a non-event for the stock markets, even as the benchmark Sensex posted a 1.32 per cent gain as the concluding week for derivatives contract sparked shortcovering by investors.
