India through to the finals

Indians have booked a place for themselves in the Commonwealth Bank tri nation series finals by beating Sri Lanka at Hobart by 7 wickets. For India, Sachin Tendulkar struck form at the right time and with Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh took India to victory in a match that was a must win for Sri Lanka if they wanted to move to the finals of the Commonwealth Bank Series.

For Indians, it was a remarkable bowling performance from Praveen Kumar and from Ishant Sharma who both took 4 wickets each. India have reached the finals of the Triangular series in Australia three times in the past but has not managed to win a single game. It was in 1985-86, 1991-92 and in 2003-04 that India made the finals of the triangular series in Australia but on all the three occasions India lost to Australia in six matches. It remains to be seen whether India can get the better of the Australians in the best of three finals beginning Sunday.
