Hundred more bus stops to be built  

Bhopal, Mar 1: Bhopal Municipal Corporation is preparing for construction of 100 new bus stops in the city. Mayor-In-Council has given sanction to this proposal. With a view to make the traffic system easy and systematic the corporation is exercising on BRTS yojna. The Municipal Corporation under the public participation has constructed 50 bus stops. Whereas, work order for same numbers have been issued.

Sources said that under the public participation project one hundred bus stops would also be constructed. Mayor-In-Council has also sanctioned this proposal. Corporation has also designed its proposal. These bus stops are to be constructed on the basis of BOT. The participants would be allowed to give advertisement. After construction the responsibility of maintenance would be of the same agency. Each of the bus stops would cost at around Rs 5 lakh. The size of bus stop would be around 20x10 feet and it would have the capacity of 7 to 8 passengers for sitting. In this scheme the private participants would be allowed to give electronic advertisement.

It is noticeable that the corporation is also constructing at around 100 toilets under private participation project (PPP) and its process is going on.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Nikunj Kumar Shrivastava says that 100 bus stops are proposed to be built in the city under PPP. After sanction of Mayor-In-Council process of constructing these bus stops would be started soon.
