Agencies

Shajapur, Mar 1: After Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, it is now the turn of Bharatiya Janashakti Party President Uma Bharti to lock horns with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray on the issue of celebrating Chhat festival in Mumbai. "I will go to Mumbai to celebrate Chhat and I dare Thackeray (Raj) to prevent me from doing so if he has guts," the firebrand former BJP leader announced in a press conference in Shajapur on Saturday.

"In order to ensure his existence and gain cheap publicity Thackeray is making such baseless statements which is not in the interest of the nation," she said.On the general and state budget for 2008-09, she said both are "directionless".

Earlier, addressing party workers in the town on Friday she alleged that corruption, terrorism and naxalism is surviving in the country due to Congress party's policies, while BJP has forgotten the core issues of Hindutva and Article 370 for the sake of power.

She alleged that BJP leaders in Madhya Pradesh are involved neck-deep in corruption as now they have a feeling they will not come back to power again.

Referring to the proposed opening of Reliance Fresh store in Ujjain she said her party would continue to oppose entry of big corporate houses in the retail sector.
