Saints on fast-onto-death

Indore, Feb 22: The row over installation of gate at Gomatgiri pilgrim site has snowballed with the saints going on a warpath against the district collector Vivek Agrawal and seeking his removal from the post. Seeking suspension of the district collector, Computer Baba along with other saints has gone on fast unto death since Thursday morning.

Computer Baba said that on February 18 when the saints went to the collector's office to meet the district collector, Vivek Agrawal, the former were humiliated by the collector and were threatened to be sent to the jail. The saints taking a serious note of the collector's attitude, have gone on fast unto death.

Computer Baba informed that on February 26, about one lakh saints from various parts of the country will gather at the Rajwara and would stage demonstration there against the district collector and seek his suspension. In this regard, he said that saints had also met the State Governor and submitted a memorandum to chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, apprising him of their demands.

He further informed that on Friday afternoon over 500 saints from Narmada Khand will arrive Indore and join them in their fast-onto-death agitation. Computer Baba said that so far no government officials had met the fasting saints to discuss the matter. On Thursday, over 50 saints including saints Laxman Das, Ramdas Maharaj, Baldev Maharaj and Girijanand Maharaj had demanded suspension of district collector Vivek Agrawal for his alleged misbehaviour with them.
