Extreme cold disrupts life: Compensate farmers' crop losses 

The whole northern India is shivering with cold. MP is also facing the same situation. On the one hand the biting cold is gripping the people with several diseases. Whereas, crops have also been affected badly. As per forecasts the cold would continue for 2-4 days more. At present in most of the places mercury is hovering around at 4-5 degrees. Cold wave conditions are present in Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal and Sagar divisions. Other divisions are also no better. This condition of the state is due to snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas. Biting cold and hail have hit rabi and other crops badly. Plants have become affected in most of the areas and their growth is hampered. It is mentionable that the farmers of the state have suffered loss of Kharif crops also because of scanty rainfall. There was drought situation in some districts of Bundelkhand, Rewanchal, Malwa and Nimad area. No sooner the got relief from last crop, now loss of rabi crops stares them. The assessment of loss of crops have not yet started. It is necessary to understand loss of rabi crop after kharif crop. It is essential that the government feel the pain of farmers. The assessment of crop loss should be made soon. Otherwise, dejected farmers' problems would continue to increase.
