Kisan Mahapanchayat: Preparations finalised

Bhopal, Feb 11: Preparations for farmers mega meet Kisan Mahapanchayat are being given final touch. On Sunday Farmers' Welfare and Agriculture Development and Cooperative Minister Gopal Bhargava apprised himself of the arrangements and issued instructions to ensure that the control rooms established for the Kisan Panchayat function effectively.

Seven facility centres have been set up at the roads leading to Bhopal for welcoming farmers coming to attend Kisan Mahapanchayat and providing them necessary facilities. Besides, arrangement of buses has been made on the basis of number of participants from each district. As many as 26 thousand farmers are likely to come from Sehore, Dewas, Ujjain, Indore, Ratlam, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Jhabua, Dhar, Khargone and Badwani districts. For their transportation, 502 buses have been arranged. Facility centre for these farmers has been set up at the premises of Bhainsakheri-based Sub-Mandi on Indore road.

As many as 360 buses have been arranged for 18,000 farmers coming from Vidisha, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Gwalior, Bhind, Morena and Sheopur districts. The facility centre for these farmers has been set up at New Mandi premises at Karond on Berasia road. From Raisen, Sagar, Damoh, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Shahdol, Anup Pur, Umaria and Sidhi, 25 thousand farmers are likely to come to attend the Kisan Mahapanchayat. For them 500 buses have been arranged. Facility centre of these farmers has been set up at New Transport Nagar at Kokta on Raisen road.

Twenty-four thousand farmers are expected to come from Khandwa, Burhanpur, Harda, Hoshangabad, Chhindwara, Seoni and Betul districts. For transporting these farmers to Bhopal 480 buses have been arranged and their facility centre has been set up at Dussehra ground in Mandideep industrial area on Hoshangabad road. Similarly, 160 buses have been arranged for eight thousand farmers coming from Mandla, Balaghat, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Chhindwara, Dindori and Katni districts. The facility centre for these farmers has been set up at Gauharganj higher secondary school's sports ground on Jabalpur-Jaipur national highway. Besides, facility centres have also been set up at platform number one of Bhopal railway station and at Habibganj railway station also.

Control rooms set up

Separate control rooms have been set up for Kisan Mahapanchayat. One control room has been set up at the premises of Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Mandi Board while another has been set up at Jamboree Maidan where the mega meet of farmers would be held. Mandi Board joint director APS Solanki has been made in charge of the control room set up at the Mandi Board whose mobile number is 9425012170. His assistance would be Mandi Board Deputy Director Radheyshyam Verma whose mobile number is 9425010554. Besides, contact can also be made at Mandi Board-based control room at telephone numbers 0755-2550834 and fax number 0755-2764654. Both these officers would remain present at the control room, would constantly monitor the arrangements and solve the problems of farmers taking part in Kisan Mahapanchayat. For the control room at Jamboree Maidan, Chief Executive Officer AK Jain has been made the in charge. The telephone number of this control room would be 0755-6462175 and 0755-6462176.
