The Export figures on the Oil year (October - September) basis show again a commendable performance by the trade. The Exports during the period October'07 to January'08 was 1977628 MT as compared to 1736407 MT registering a 13.89 % growth over the last year.
During the current Oil year the two significant markets were Vietnam and Japan. This Oil year India has exported 512528 MT to Vietnam, 341355 MT to Japan as against 337936 MT, 191524 MT respectively during last oil year. This shows a 51.66% jump in our exports to Vietnam and 78.23% to Japan Overall the thrust of our exports have been to East & South East Asian Countries.
The Export of Soybean Meal during January'08 was 724526 MT as against 535756 MT during the same period last year showing a growth of 35.23% over the last year. The total exports of Soybean meal for financial year April'07 to January'08 this year is down at 2740976 MT as against 3170434 MT during the same period last year, indicating a decline of 13.55% over the last year.
The data has been collected and compiled by SOPA based on the information received from Members, Port Authorities and Other Agencies. The data does not include exports to Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh by Rail or Road.
