Farmers from each village panchayat to visit in Mahapanchayat

Bhopal, Feb 7 : State government is going to call a farmer Mahapanchayat and in this connection 3-3 farmers would be called from every village panchayat.

Preparations of farmer Mahapanchayat have been started which is going to be held at Jamboori ground on February 14.

The in charge minister, MLAs and collectors have been given this responsibility to ensure arrangements to take the farmers here from every village panchayat.

Earlier the Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan had organised a farmers panchayat at his residence on August 30 in which the farmers from all over the state were called. He had made 18 announcements in farmers' panchayat and most of the announcements have been fulfilled.

Today in a formal meeting of state cabinet suggestions were invited from the ministers on the problems of farmers. On the basis of these problems the Chief Minister would talk with the farmers.

Similarly, the farmers coming from districts would also bring their problems in notice to the chief minister. There are 23051village panchayats and 52143 villages in the state.

Agriculture Minister, Gopal Bhargava today reviewed the preparations made for farmers' Mahapanchayat.

BMC acts against major defaulters

Bhopal, Feb 7 : Bhopal Municipal Corporation has started seizing the property of tax evaders in wards number 12 and 16 in Zone 3 under its policy of recovering dues against major defaulters.

Under the instructions of commissioner Nikunj Kumar Shrivastava, BMC staff seized two properties in ward number 12. These include Baba Shadi Hall against which Rs 1,61,521 was due and house number 46/A , Nishatpura belonging to Pyarelal Yadav against whom Rs 63,989 tax was due. Similarly, in war number 16 the petrol pump named Vikash H Parnani Pharma Filling Station at Chhola road was sezied since Rs 68,224 was due against it.

The BMC administration has appealed to all the property holders of the city to submit their taxes at the ward offices at the earliest and save themselves from the embarrassment of property seizure.

Tax recovery camps on holidays also

With a view to facilitating the tax payers, BMC has decided to organised tax recovery camps at various localities even on holidays. Under this policy camps would be organised on Saturday (Feb 9), Sunday (Feb 10), Saturday (Feb 16), Sunday (Feb 17) and Sunday (Feb 24). These camps would begin at 10 am and conclude at 5 pm. Apart from submitting tax, people can submit their objections about tax assessment, review of tax amounts and apply for new accounts.

On February 9, recovery camps would be organised at all the wards for the facility of tax payers.
