Centenary year celebrated: Ex-students were remembered

Bhopal, Feb 7: Government Hamidiya Balak Uttchtar Secondary School celebrated the centrary day of the school at Shala Parisar near Ginnori. In the function they also gave respect to the ex-students. Many renowned personalities were present in the function that has studied from the school. R.N.Verma remained as student and principal of the school was the chief guest of the programme.

Programme director Sayed Akhtar lit the candles. Little children's presented Saraswati Vadna and school principal Dr. C.P. Bhalvi gave respect to ex-students with garland. While addressing to audience he gave brief history of school and told that earlier school came to be known as Alexandra School. In 1956 Jan its name was changed to Hamidiya School. Deepak Chivde assistant teacher played the flute, which left everybody, spellbound.

After this school students performed a bundelkhandi folk dance Pahuna. School principal told that many known persons have studied here which is talk of proud for us. Personalities like India ex-president Shankar Dayal Sharma, Bhopal state last king Hamidulla Khan, Manipur ex-governor Avadh Narayan Shirvastav, Retired member of parliament Aziz Kareshi, International plastic surgeon Dr. Zaheerul Islam, Freedom Fighter Narayan Prasad Gupta, Hockey Olympian Zalaudin Rizvi have studied here. On the completion of the programme students were awarded also.
