Nutritional counselling for adolescents by Jigyasa, a multi-purpose youth friendly centre organised an educational counselling session on nutritional requirement of adolescent girls at St Joseph Co-Ed Higher Secondary School, Arera Colony. Around 4000 adolescent girls/boys from 1st to 12th standard and school staff benefited by the programme. The session began with the warm welcome of the participant.
Dinesh Prasad of Jigyasa has informed the students regarding the services available for adolescents and youth. The Multi purpose youth friendly centre is the initiative of Regional Technical Centre FPA India supported by Dept of Public Health & family Welfare, RCH-II, Dr Amita Singh, Nutritionist was the centre of attraction to the session. She urged the students to take proper care of their dietary intake to look more beautiful & energetic. Balance diet not only makes one healthy but also helps to shape-up their body.
She stressed on the fact that children should take some light breakfast also along with a cup of milk. She suggested the students as how to make their food delicious & nutritious. She pointed out that balanced diet should contain cereals, pulses, green leafy vegetables & seasonal fruits. She further highlighted that adolescent should avoid junk food & should take fruits & salads. In the growing age girls/boys should take at least half litre of milk in any form. Ms Seema Jain, Counsellor sensitised the students to come out with their valuable suggestion for the youth friendly centre.
Ms Vasudhara Sharma, PRO of the School proposed vote of thanks to the participants, especially to Dr Amita Singh and Jigyasa team for giving valuable guidance to the students on health issues.
PR Minister meets victims of bus accident

Public Relations, Culture and Mineral Resources Minister and minister in charge of Raisen district Laxmikant Sharma met the victims of a bus mishap at Hamidia Hospital on Wednesday night. Minister in charge Sharma also present relief amount to the tune of Rs 2000 to each of the mishap victims.
Three persons had died and seven were injured in a jeep-truck collision recently at Devri in Udaipura tehsil of Raisen district. Raisen district administration had sent the injured persons to Bhopal-based Hamidia Hospital for treatment. Dr Pippal of Hamidia Hospital said that proper treatment is being meted out to the injured persons on the basis of BPL card.
Raisen SDM Manoj Saryam informed the minister incharge Sharma about the arrangements being made by the district administration for the treatment of the injured persons.
