Indore, Feb 6:
After auctioning the land of Swadeshi Mill, the National Textile Corporation has auctioned 33.85 acres of Kalyan Mill land. The tenders for Kalyan Mill land were opened in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The highest bid of Rs 141 crore for this land was made by M/s Chetak Enterprises Limited, Niberhera. The second bid for this land was made by a Delhi-based company Kenan & Dunkerli. This company had quoted an amount of Rs 118 crore for this land. The sale committee of the NTC will finally authenticate the bidding price.
The city people however, are agitated over the latest NTC move. The controversy over the Kalyan Mill land is sub judice in the Supreme Court, while a local revenue court has reserved its order the property of Swadeshi Mill land.
Meanwhile, the City Congress Committee spokesperson Abhay Dube while condemning the NTC move, said that he will move the court against the auction of Kalyan Mill land. The Congress leader said that separate letters had been sent both to the Government as well as the NTC, requesting them not to sale the Kalyan Mill land in the interest of the city people.
He further said that Kalyan Mill land was subjudice in the Supreme Court as the NTC had previously made a deal with the Mourya Enterprises and the Shalimar company separately, without inviting tenders from them.
