Globalisation: A conspiracy against poor countries

By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, Feb 6: A lecture session was organised by Rotary Club (East) of the State capital on the topic 'harmful effects of globalisation'. Famous economist and former Vice Chancellor of Barkatullah University Prof DP Sharma said that globalisation is not an evil thing in itself but it is being used as weapon by rich countries against poor countries.

He said that today, WTO and IMF are under the dominance of America and its supporters and they are imposing their policies on other countries. As a result, the revenue generated by MNC's like Mitsubishi and General Motors is much higher than the revenue of Greece and Saudi Arabia and this is resulting in increase in gap between rich and poor in India too.

Prof Sharma said that Indian culture is under the grip of Globalisation and people are adopting western life style ignoring their own life values.
