CS to head state-level monitoring committee

Bhopal, Feb 6: For the implementation of Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act-2006 and Rule 2007), the state government has constituted a state-level monitoring committee. Chief Secretary has been made chairman of the monitoring committee notification for which has been issued.

The state-level monitoring committee headed by the Chief Secretary would monitor from time to time recognition of forest rights, their certification and transfer.

Members of the monitoring committee would include secretaries of Revenue, Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Welfare, Forest and Panchayat and Social Justice departments and principal chief conservator of forests. Commissioner Tribal Development would be the member secretary of the monitoring committee.

Besides three persons nominated by the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Tribal Advisory Council would also members of the monitoring committee. They include Mahendra Singh, Keshar Singh Chouhan, Deevan Singh Patel and Faggan Singh Kulaste.
